Abstract
The Massachusetts Bay Colony settlement had a substantial impact on the development of American law, and influential in shaping the legal system of the Massachusetts Colony was John Winthrop. The author traces Winthrop's role in the Massachusetts Colony, and explores Winthrop's concept of the law as it was molded by his Puritan beliefs.
