Abstract
The Supreme Court of the United States held that state sovereign immunity, as understood and extended through the Eleventh Amendment of the Constitution of the United States, bars the Federal Maritime Commission, and similar administrative bodies, from adjudicating private complaints against state agencies without their consent.
