Abstract
My Master of Music recital includes three major pieces from the bassoon repertoire each one representing a different musical style. The first of these works is a Classical era concerto in three movements for bassoon, Concerto in F Major, by Johann Nepomuk Hummel. The second work is a twentieth century French sonatine in three movements for bassoon and piano. This work is called Sonatine, by Alexandre Tansman. The final work being represented in this recital is a duet for bassoon and clarinet accompanied by string orchestra. For the purposes of this recital the bassoon and clarinet will be accompanied by the piano reduction of the string orchestra. This piece is the Duett Concertino, by Richard Strauss.
