Abstract

Logarithm is a work which has a single movement for full symphony orchestra. There are two essential ideas throughout this work. One is to provide a flowing image such as smooth waves and floating boats expressed by lyrical melodic lines and strings' rhythmic pattern with triplets. Another idea is to present a more dynamic and cheerful feeling represented by faster tempo and shorter rhythmic unit. However, as the work progresses, the latter sections integrate the thematic materials of the previous sections, so the overall unity of the piece is accomplished.
