Abstract
In the first part of this dissertation , photosplitting of water on the surface of semiconductor electrodes was investigated. Stability consideration favors metal oxide based semiconductors, hence titania and iron oxide were selected. High band gap for n-TiO2<<2<<2<<2<<2<<4<<2<<2<<2<<2<<2<<3<<3<<3<<3<<3<<
