Abstract
My M.M. thesis demonstrates vocal repertoire from the baroque, classical, romantic, and twentieth musical periods as well as art songs and arias written in Italian, French, German and English. My program ranges in styles starting with Vivaldi's Four Arias, an Italian song cycle written in the baroque period to traditional spirituals arranged by Mark Hayes a twentieth century gospel composer. The spiritual Gospel of Grace is medley of Amazing Grace and I'm New Born Again. Steal Away to Heaven is also a medley of Nobody Knows the Trouble I've Seen, Sometimes I feel like a Motherless Child and Steal Away.
